what subject would you advise me to take at ALevel because i have no idea what i want to do in future and i want to know what sort of jobs are out there.do you think if i studied sociology i would get a good job and can you tell me what sort of jobs ill be doing and who ill be working for..What sort of jobs are there nowadys and what would you advise a school leaver to study to get a good job?????
Something rare. DON'T BECOME A GRAPHIC or WEB DESIGNER, PROGRAMMER, or anything related to computers. NURSEs get paid bank.
NO COMPUTER SCIENCE!!!! Don't waste your time, there are a lot of people in that field already that cannot find jobs. In the dot com age, that was a good thing to study now it is just plain worthless. If you have to do something computer related stick to network admin, currently a good paying field and has job opportunities. But that won't be for long.
You won't get any job if you take liberal arts. Take science, engineering, architecture, business etc. What sort of jobs are there nowadys and what would you advise a school leaver to study to get a good job?????
Jobs that will always be in demand are those in Science and teaching, steer away from what everyone else is doing or just taking a subject 'because its easy'
Nearly 6 of every 10 out-of-school
poor youth were school dropouts.
In contrast, fewer than one-third of
the out-of-school youth living in
families with incomes three or more
times the poverty level were school
dropouts. http://www.cbwl.org/researchandevaluation/documents/ResearchBrief1-03.pdf
In 1992, the estimated lifetime earnings for a high school dropout were $608,810. Compare that figure with the earnings of a high school graduate, $820,870, and a college graduate, $1.4 million.

However, there are resources for those who leave school. Here is a website:

Take Economics. It will help you in any financial job.
Every business uses computers of some kind, so the best thing to study to ensure employability is computer science.
By ';school leaver,'; I assume you mean someone who is about to graduate from high school.
The kind of jobs for you are:
hamburger flipper at McDonald's
associate at Wal-Mart
carry-out person at a supermarket
dock worker
warehouse worker
cement shoveler
road-crew worker
waiter/waitress
beggar
You see, the better jobs are reserved for those high school graduates who actually learned something. ';High school leavers'; get what's left over.
But, if you're interested in a profession or a well-paid occupation, then you'll have to abandon your dream of being a ';school leaver,'; learn enough to qualify for college, and then earn at least a four-year degree.
Good luck, loser...I mean, leaver.
if you do a social science course you,l do all sorts like admin, computing, economics, polotics, socio鈥?etc maybe from this youl find your path.follow your heart and do sumin you really like
pick a career that can't be outsourced or done by an unskilled illegal alien. Perhaps something in the medical field.
