Don't worry about the jobs going to India. If you are good, you are pretty much guaranteed work with a decent salary. (Around $ 50K to start out I believe) If you limp through and graduate with a 2.5 though, you might as well be a business major like the rest of the idiots because it's going to be hard to find a job.
Advantages: Programming is fun. It can be hard starting out but once you get the basics down the learning curve eases up a bit. Smaller class sizes because there aren't a whole lot of CS majors. So you'll make friends by default since the 5-10 of you are in all the same classes. And you'll know the professors in case you ever need a letter of recommendation.
Disadvantages: There will be hardly any girls in your classes after the first couple years (after you get the gen ed reqs out of the way). There is a lot more math involved than you might initially think. CS is basically math applied to computers. If you are struggling with algebra, you won't make it through calculus, discrete math or linear algebra.
I spent 2 years at a CC limping along wondering if this was really the major for me. Classes were boring etc. Then I transferred to a 4 year school and had to basically start all over at the 100 level CS class. I learned more in this semester than the 2 years combined at CC and programming is fun for me now. I can't wait until next semester.
