theres a target near by with a starbucks in it i have an interviiew with them has anyone worked for starbucks? or target? what do i expect when woring there? whats the interview like?So interview with target/starbucks tommarow any advise or tips?
I worked for Starbucks for 7 years. I really loved it and only left to be home with my children. The one in the Target will be a business alliance store. That means you have to follow Starbucks procedure for the store, but you will get benefits and wages through Target. So the interviewing process might be different than a corporate owned one. I will tell you at Starbucks is pretty easy. They usually have preset questions that they like to ask. I use to do interviews for them a lot! I would look for people who were upbeat, but genuine. I would look for eye contact. Looking a person in the eye while you speak shows interest and confidence. I always asked What qualifications do you have to bring to Starbucks? Don't say I am good with people. It is too vague. Say I love to talk to people and help them find a product they like. I have good math skills, I am organized, punctual etc etc. You don't have to be perfect, but you should definitly tell them all your accomplishments and abilities. They will ask you about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer. If you don't have work experience think of a time at school or church or something you had to work out a situation. They will ask you to tell them when you did something good for a customer. Same thing. They will ask about your schedule. Be firm of what you can and can't do, but offer them some flexibility. If you can only work Tuesdays and Thursdays(for example) then chances are you won't get the job. They like flexibility. I always asked them about a time they had to use teamwork. I would also always ask if they had any questions about the company. Ask about benefits and programs Starbucks offers. To me that always showed the person did care where they worked and didn't just want a paycheck.

When you work at Starbucks, don't think you just stand around. The people there actually work pretty hard. I loved it because I like talking to people and I like being busy. Depending on the sales and business You could be very busy. Good luck. I agree though that if I had a choice I would go to a corporate store. They really do treat employees better. So interview with target/starbucks tommarow any advise or tips?
I work at starbucks.

The interview was pretty low key, actually. She didn't ask me anything huge. Like all interviews, tell them what they want to hear, without lying your head off.

Working at Starbucks is fun, but some nights, it kind-of sucks.

I'd also suggest working at a corporate starbucks (a private one) instead of a licensed starbucks (target starbucks). you get treated better, have more loyal customers, and get better benefits. i'm not certain, but i think your wages are set by the target store, not starbucks corporation. :\
