Please help me people need expert advise on buying Laptop?

I want a decent laptop thats good for internet/entertainment use like watcing films and genral home use but unfortunetly i can only spend 拢300-拢400 maximum. Please help me

I don't know how the prices work in europe. Check out Dell, Hp/Compaq, Gateway. They all sell decent laptops for under $1000.00 US. Some start out even less. When you go to the web sites they sort of guide you to the model that will suit yours needs.

You could buy a copy of Micro Mart computer magazine, it's only 拢1.99 and you will find numerous adverts. There are some excellent bargains in reconditioned as new laptops with a full warranty.Also a lot of brand new at discount prices. It's also a good magazine if you want to know a little more about how things work. Hope this helps

I got my laptop for 拢175 and it came with a DvD rewriter and lots of features. It also came with an Mp3 player and and a wireless lan card. Go on the OMT website. It is www.omt limited.co.uk
I would advise you to get acer laptops. therye value for money. Search on yahoo for acer laptops theres one for 拢350. its the Acer Aspire 5051AWXMi Laptop which will be good for all of the things you said you need it for.

拢400 is kina low for a good system, but if its just browsing and movie watching, well maybe it'll just do, but you wont be getting memory for storing movies. Also, if you know anyone going to the states for a short stay, you'd be much happier letting him buy it there for you.

Well, I've just bought an ADVENT 7113 - 拢400 - widescreen - Vista (which is great by the way) it runs DVD's like a good 'un is great for internet use and home use in general - it's pretty darn good.





80GB HD, 1 GB Ram 3USB ports, LAN, MODEM, S-Video out - DVD ReWriter





All in all a good machine
There should be plenty on the market within your price range...





I suggest you at least think about dell as they're 24 hour customer care service presto has been really helpful when ive run into technical problems over the past month.





For the kind of use your talking about, a celleron m processor should be fine, most laptops now have integrated wifi capability, but make sure that yours does have it.





You should also expect about an 80 gb hard drive.





For basic use 512ram should be ok but if you can get an upgrade to 1024 do that.





Based upon recently buying a new desktop, one thing i would suggest is that you don't buy a machine that is working vista. It continues to be incompatible with everything under the sun. Get a machine thats running XP, and upgrade to vista in a year or so.





Most of all, dont be persuaded by dodgy salesmen to spend more than you can afford!
