My mum has recently got in touch with her son that she had adopted when he was born. My brother and I are meeting him for the first time on our mums birthday on the 18th. He sent me a birthday card (my birthday is tomorrow) and in it he asked for advice about what to get our mum. I have no idea what to get her myself, let alone what to tell him to get her. She likes travelling (she is currently in S.Africa), but i'm not really sure what else. Mumsy things really! She's about 55What should I advise my long lost brother to buy my mum for her birthday?
A photo album with pictures of him growing up - Which she has missed. What should I advise my long lost brother to buy my mum for her birthday?
i would buy her a satellite navigation system so she will never lose touch with her family ever again, and maybe a satellite phone and some kendal mint cake
Flowers are always nice. Its up to you, you know her!!!
How about taking her to dinner and maybe a movie or something just the two of them so they can spend quality time together. He could give her a card telling her to choose the time and place.
Hope this helps. Good luck to your family.
A photo album put together with photos of him growing up might be nice.
a birthday card for every year missed with a pic in each one of him at the age he was .....good luck with your meeting hope all goes well xx
Something personal that she can keep
A situation like that calls for flowers . With flowers you cant loose. then when he knows her better the gifts can get more personal.
Congrats on your new family. I am very happy for you all.
How about you all go out for dinner together I am sure this will mean more to her than a present
A jewelry is always a good choice. What about a pendent that says:';Love you, Mom.';?
well - it it was my Mum - i would buy a gift voucher that allows her to go to a beautition salon or massage%26amp;spa salon ... hmmm ....
One of my mates got her mother a dvd done up. You choose a song to go in the background to set the mood then photos that you choose starting from youngest to oldest blend into eah other in turn. You can have a message put in at the beginning or end or both. This is like a photo album diary. Everybody loved it and most people started crying. You can find someone to do this in wedding photography/videoing services.
He could get her flowers, and maybe you could both put together for a theatre trip with a meal in a plush restaurant. If funds run to it, how about an overnight stay in a nice hotel to end the evening?
a digital photo frame from all of you,so she can have a photo of all of you? they are main/battery powered.
A portrait of the family with him on.
