Referring to our previous letter regarding the Meeting in Apojo, we would like to inform Your Excellency, that Mr. Andrew, *will come to the Meeting as Head of Delegation in replacement of earlier planned Alternate Head of Delegation, Mr. Arojo*Could you please advise if the sentence between asterisks is grammatically correct? Thanks?
*we would like to inform Your' Excellency that Mr. Andrew. will be attending the meeting as Head of Delegation, in place of Mr. Arojo, Alternate Head of Delegation, who was originally scheduled to attend*.Could you please advise if the sentence between asterisks is grammatically correct? Thanks?
*will come to the Meeting as Head of Delegation in replacement of earlier planned Alternate Head of Delegation, Mr. Arojo*
It is grammatically incorrect but it is awkward. It would read better as 'will attend the meeting as Head of Delegation in lieu of Alternate Head of Delegation, Mr. Arojo.'
The sentence may need rewording, if Mr. Andrew is the actual head of the delegation, who could not attend and so Mr. Arojo, the alternate was to stand in,.
Your Excellency may please note that the Head of Delegation Mr.Andrew himself will attend the Meeting instead of the Alternate Head Mr. Arojo as originally intimated.
