For example: I have been reading this book by Albert Camus, The Rebel. And while I read I get this adrenaline because I enjoy what I'm reading so much. And at the time I understand what's going on but minutes later, as I put the book down, it's like I can't convey what has actually happened. But sometimes it's within all my readings.
It makes me really unhappy because I want to explain and teach what I learn but I just can't.
Can someone tell me why I'm going through this?
Thank you much.I need advise. I have a problem with trying to explain what I just read. Have any of u encountered this prob?
You are too close to it. Step away for a while and then write down what you just read in a summary in journal format. You can go back and correct it until you think it's right. I know this is a lot of work and takes practice, but pretty soon you get so good, you don't need to write it down.
Anything worth doing takes practice. Ask any athlete. They'll tell you the same thing.I need advise. I have a problem with trying to explain what I just read. Have any of u encountered this prob?
This is very common, especially when you're reading complicated books like The Rebel. It's kind of like when you're in class, and things make sense while the teacher is explaining them, but then when you leave class, they're all jumbled.
When I encounter something in a book that I want to remember and pass on, I stop and ask myself how I would explain this to someone else. If I'm not sure, I'll read it again and then ask myself the same question. I find that when I can explain it, I understand and remember it much better.
