Ethics Policy and a Bogus Termination, Please advise?

My husband lost his job today because they told him that he was in violation of the Ethics Policy they have within the company. They incident in which I am about to refer to was the reason my husband was terminated but when your reading notice at the time the incident occurred my husband was not a KB Home employee but a KB Homeowner.

My master bathroom had an extremely bad water leak because of the water leak mold grew and a remediation crew was dispatched out to our house to remediate the affected area. After doing so they then had to do all put back work. After discussing the put back work with my husband the remediation technician made a suggestion to my husband that they should change the shower tile and tile around the bathtub and floor. My husband (as a homeowner) agreed that it would look good and the technician then began the work.

The owner of the company was not informed of his and after finding out decided to charge my husbands employer for all extra work. The technician then wrote a statement that my husband agreed to the work and said it would be billable. Completely bogus, nothing was ever mentioned about the work being billable.

As a result my husband was terminated due to a false statement and reason being was it was against the company鈥檚 ethic policy.

Is this ground for termination when at the time of the incident my husband was NOT an employee but a homeowner, in his HOME?Ethics Policy and a Bogus Termination, Please advise?
The question doesn't make much sense, unless you husband's employer somehow owns the house in which you live... and you say he was the homeowner.Ethics Policy and a Bogus Termination, Please advise?
We bought the house from KB homes, which was my husband鈥檚 employer. The house came with a warranty and the issue in which I was describing above was part of the warranty
