When the advise is for something important to other people we sort of hope they dont see the flaws in the advise/argument. We may second guess ourselves with an argument against what we have said, and hope they dont notice it. This is why i never take my own advice and can never come up with a firm idea of what i believe in some cases. I see loop holes, i see things i specifically didnt point out when giving advise.
Including when someone has just died, or is suffering depression. You specifically are trying to console them and so use euphamisms which you KNOW are such, so when you try to apply it to your situation it doesnt work.
When you tell someone else they are perfectly normal because they have a problem, and you say the statistics or whatever, and say that they can live a perfectly healthy life you know its not really like that but they believe you because the majority of people in this world are stupid and easy to manipulate. When it comes back to us though, we cannot console ourselves. Are you great at giving advise but never take your own advise?
To some degree we all do, which is why we all need to only give advice when asked, or there's some other compelling interest (like being in a relationship; but that's even trickier).
if it was an olympic sport i'd win a gold medal EVERYTIME ..hey but thats it we always know what's good 4 sum1 else..never ourselves...
